T-Ball

Colin had his first T-Ball game today! He did a great job hitting and was even the pitcher for one inning. I was really proud of him.

The game lasted almost two hours!!! Is it just me, or is that a little excessive for T-Ball? Kids his age just don't keep their focus for that long! They have practice or games three times a week for that long! Craziness.

T-Ball! I can't wait until I can watch my babies do fun stuff like this!

Of all things to be my first attempt at a post (Hi Katie!), it is something I have strong feelings on, so here it is: I agree, 2 hours definitely seems excessive. That is until they get a little older and their games start lasting between 3 and 4 hours! And multiple nights a week, too! You feel like you live and breathe baseball! I love my brothers (all three play baseball), but it is not easy to sit and watch such a subtle (I am using the kindest word I can think of) game for such an extended amount of time. (I know it is different when it is your own kids, but still!) My bros know how I feel and I know they appreciate that I still come. What can I say, they are worth it!
OK, enough ranting. Bring it on baseball fans!
But most importantly, Go Colin!!!

Two hours is way too long. High school games don't last that long!

Wow! I wish my brothers had gone to that high school!

Jonelle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As you can see, I am happy to hear from you!

I think the game was supposed to be an hour and a half, but they finished an inning at 7:23 and decided to do "just one more inning." What the?!

It gets worse Katie. Wait until you have multiple games going on on different fields and they all practice 3 different evenings a week. I asked Amy not to sign the kids up for baseball this year for that reason. IT IS WAY TOO TIME-CONSUMING!(and boring when your kid, or in my case, grandkid sits on the bench most the time) It's real easy for Amy to sign the kids up for every sport and 4-H and dance and acro and cub scouts when she works 12 hour shifts and I get to take them to all the games and practices. But I agree with you about T-ball, it was fun to watch cuz the kids are so darn cute, but it lasts forever!! But I'm sure Colin will love it and will probably continue in the baseball leagues for years to come. Have fun!
