Preparing

I stayed out of the girl's clothes section for quite awhile after the big ultrasound. I don't know if it was the shock of all that pink screaming at me, or the disbelief I felt about having a girl. Whenever someone asked me if I was just SO excited, I would say, "I really just can't believe it yet." My brain was stuck in boy mode. Part of me still expected to pull out the 0-6 month boy bin from the closet one more time and just sort through it sometime before April.

My resistance and disbelief disappeared with the appearance of these little dresses on clearance at Target.

Size newborn

0-3 Months

Part of me wonders if I will look back on the second dress years from now and wonder what I was thinking, but for now I love it.

The spell has been broken and I have no problem shopping for little girls' clothes now. No problem at all.

Gorgeous!

LOVE them both! I don't think you'll look back and not love that dress. It's adorable!

HOW CUTE! I love them both too, but I will say I love the first the most. I think that is how I will feel if this one is a boy (and I only have girls) maybe something to do with what was said at our wedding ;)

They are both cute dresses. I was just at Target today and slowed down when passing the baby clothes, but resisted. I was there for diapers and medicine. Sick kids take priority over good deal baby clothes...for now.

For the longest time, I would make Matt go into the boys section because I just couldn't 'deal' (we had 1 boy cousin in our whole family). And then, I would wander through the girls' section before I made my way over to clothes for Jonah...and that was with just one of each!

Those dresses are absolutely adorable and you will love the bright colors on your little girl - they will just make her that much cuter! : )

If you keep her clothes to give to her someday, she'll take one look at that second dress and wonder what the heck the fad was. It's totally cute, just very "in".

I haven't let myself wander into the baby girl section too much. Rae is dying to buy some stuff, but I'll hopefully know for sure after today's ultrasound. I did pull out a bin of Rae's old clothes and I have a few things in there. My kids pretty much spend the first 3 months wearing those light sleeper pjs, onesies and little romper type outfits. I'm not the type to put my girl in a dress unless it is for church - and sometimes I prefer a nice comfy outfit for church.

I know what you mean Ashley - I like my babies in really comfy and soft clothes. I keep trying to remind myself of that when I buy clothes...and telling myself that even for church, she only needs a few dresses! The dresses are the funnest thing to buy.

Dresses definitely are the most fun to buy. Oh, and you need a few flower hair bows to go with those dresses!

I'm just gonna say it: dressing up my little girls is one of the highlights of my life. You're going to love it, Katie. Oh, and you can spend a fortune on hair stuff, but I've got the system beaten. I bought 100 barrettes at the local beauty supply store for three dollars, and then decorated them myself with hot glue, silk flowers, ribbon and gems. Very cheap and easy.

On the subject of hair bows...baby might not have any hair anyway, and might had having things on her head...just sayin'

Christie - I am totally counting on her not having any hair for awhile! None of my kids so far have had much of it as babies. But I am not above gluing bows on :o)
