Guess what Evan?

Your baby brother Liam was born!!!

This really is the reaction I got when I told him the news! So cute. We, meaning my mom, Gabe, Colin and I, were at the garden with him when we got the news! Woohoo! I am will have to post pictures of the baby later.

I know these things freak some people out....

...but I think they are awesome! We got to have another ultrasound on Baby Boy yesterday, thanks to a previously low placenta, that has now migrated up and out of the way (woohoo!). He was much "cuter" now than at the previous ultrasound because he is starting to fatten up. He is over 2 lbs now! I had just had my glucose test drink, so he was super hyped up and kept crossing his arms over his face and scowling, plus the technician said he was folded completely in half, with his legs over his face as well, so it wasn't very easy to get a good look at his face.

From what we could see, I think he already has my scowl and nose, and Chad's chin. He definitely looks like a Coleman boy. Only three more months to go!

Does he look nervous?

Colin had his "beginner's day" for kindergarten last Thurday. All future kindergarters started off in the cafeteria where the principal talked to them a little and there was a uniform fashion show. Then everyone divided up according to language and went to their respective classrooms. As soon as we got in the classroom and the kids took a seat, the teachers started only speaking Chinese and instructed the children through a game.

Colin looked quite bewildered and overwhelmed, especially since he was at the front of the line for the game, but he really hung in there. He never really cracked a smile but afterwards told me that he loved it. Shhh, someone tell the girl behind him that the line faces the other way.

They went over the numbers in Chinese, and I started noticing that some kids were saying the numbers before the teachers were. I had already noticed that there were a lot of little girls that were obviously adopted from China, and then I noticed that they were the ones answering. How cool would that be to adopt from China and then be able to have them learn their language?

Afterwards we went to Panda Express (get it- Chinese food?) to celebrate.

I haven't started this book yet - I just saw it on the shelf at the library the other day and picked it up. After linking to the amazon page and seeing the reviews I am a little scared!

Gee Whiz!

I just had to laugh when I found out that the supposed due date for Angelina Jolie's twins is Aug.19th!!! My due date is the 20th. In case you don't know, Audra and I want to be just like her (not really! she wrote a post about it, but I can't seem to find it), so even though I am not having twins, the two of us put together are doing a pretty good job of emulating her, don't you think?That picture to the right looks like me, too. Man, I am just too cool. Now to go woo Brad Pitt away from his partner so I can be more like her.....

Spoil 'em rotten and send 'em home!

In case some of you don't know all about them, you should check out my brother Levi and his wife Audra, who are in Ethiopia right now adopting three kids.

Their other four kids are being cared for by a full-time nanny who moved into their house for the week. I got to go visit them today and take the oldest two out for awhile. My kids were very excited to have Nolan and Lettie hang out with them at the park. All four of them dug in the sand and ran around to their hearts' content. Then we took our sandy heads over to Chick-Fil-A. They were all so good for me! Fun times.

What else does a mom need on Mother's Day?

Colin's hole

Did you know that ALL kids love to dig?Seriously! Levi and I remember spending hours trying to dig tunnels to our neighbor's yard when we were little, so I know we were no exception, and neither is Colin or any other kid who has been to our house the last couple of months. We roto-tilled a large chunk of our backyard in preparation for a garden in March and just finished putting the garden in this week. In the meantime, Colin had a unlimited digging permit, and he took full advantage of it. The funny thing is that the hole got to a certain size probably the first day of digging and then never really got bigger after that, even though I can think of no less than 10 different kids who helped him with the hole. No kidding - cousins, friends, fellow preschoolers. They all jumped at the chance of digging in the hole! For awhile there I think we were the "cool" parents thanks to that hole!

Do you ever do this?

Okay, I know I am not the only mom who does this. Every once in awhile I will pull up some old pictures of my kids that I haven't looked at in probably a year or so, and I just absolutely cannot believe how adorable they are. It makes me just ache to have that same baby back for a few hours just so I can kiss their adorable baby cheeks and remember how they moved and sounded. I looked at some old pictures of Gabe today, from June 2005, and he was just absolutely scrumptious! It made me so excited for this next baby!

Happy May Day!

I would personally like to see May Day celebrated more, so we had a May Day party at preschool today. Each kid got to plant a flower pot, we decorated cupcakes, and we had a parade with our mini-May-poles. It was so much fun!
