Veteran's Day at Aloha Snow

I got to spend part of my Veteran's Day at Aloha Snow, which is owned by my sister-in-law Audra and my brother Levi. I had a sundae with peanut butter topping, hot fudge, marshmallow and whipped cream. My tummy thanked me.

How about you? Did you get to do anything fun yesterday?

Seth worked. Lily and I went to Walmart and the park. Seth only gets 4 paid days off a year.

Nope - no days off here. Rae did stay home from school "sick" though. I wish Roy had the day off! I wonder why some schools are off and others aren't.

Some schools don't give the day off because it takes away from other vacations on the calendar.

I grew up around military bases so class on Veteran's Day was never even considered an option.

Wednesday is one of my long work days, though I found a way to cut the classes out somewhat early.

Yeah, last year our school didn't have it off and this year they did. the kids in our ward in South Carolina didn't.

One of the benefits of Chad working for a bank is that he gets all banking holidays off.
